Hajj 2024: NAHCON Successfully Transports Muslim Pilgrims from 25 States, Including Enugu and Bayelsa, to Saudi Arabia
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has airlifted 45,012 Nigerian Muslim pilgrims from fourteen states to Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

The Economic Confidential reports that on the 23rd day of the airlift, fourteen states, including Bauchi, Bayelsa, Benue, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Lagos, Nasarawa, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara states, have completed the airlift of their pilgrims. Additionally, FCT, Kebbi, Borno, and Adamawa states are making significant progress and are close to finishing the airlift, with over 90% completion.
So far, 9,839 pilgrims are in Madina, while 35,173 are in Mecca, having been transported to destinations to the airports in Madina and Jeddah through the 106 flights conducted.
While the NAHCON continues its efforts to ensure a smooth and efficient Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims, PRNigeria gathered that on the 23rd Day of the airlift of Nigerian Muslim pilgrims for Hajj in Saudi Arabia, 91 flights landed in Madinah with 38,006 pilgrims. In comparison, 15 flights landed in Jeddah with 7,006 pilgrims.
Regarding gender, 28,003 males and 17,009 females were transported for the Islamic pilgrimage.
