While speaking to newsmen, Commodore Tanko Lengaya, Commander of the Naval Unit Abuja, said the apartments signify a new development.
He highlighted that accommodation had been a major concern for naval personnel prior to the current CNS’s tenure in office.
Located in Kubwa, he said, “This housing project is part of a nationwide initiative to provide Senior Ratings with proper and comfortable living spaces.
” This will go a long way in reducing the challenges of accommodation for the ratings, and this will be permanent accommodation for the senior rates,” he said.
The commander said that the presence of navy personnel in the Kubwa area would assist in coordinating security in the area.
He congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to take good care of the accommodation.
