ERGP: Budget Ministry Builds Staff Capacity
to Enhance Effective Implementation
The specialized training programme On Building Core Skills of Planners for effective Implementation of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) has commenced.
The programme which is organised by the Ministry of Budget and National Planning kicked-off on Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Keffi, Nassarawa State, with an opening ceremony by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olajide S. Odewale, FCA.

In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Odewale expressed his delight with the effort of government towards deepening the understanding of participants of the implementation of the ERGP, which according to him is one of the several steps to get the Plan effectively implemented.
He noted that the problem of the country has not been lack of development Plans, but that of a failure of implementation, adding that the training was aimed at enhancing the capacity of Core officers in the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on the critical elements for effective implementation of the Plan
Mr Odewale pointed out that, the training will also equip the officers with relevant technical skills in project/programmes execution for enhanced service delivery in the country.
Accordingly, Core Officers in various Federal MDAs will be participating in the training programme which is being organized in four batches, and will span between May 3 – 16, 2018.
Resource persons were carefully drawn from the academia, development experts and practitioners in public and private sector.
