Hajj 2025 Preparation Suspended by Association for Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria
The Association for Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON) has announced the suspension of all activities related to the preparation for Hajj 2025 until further notice. In a directive addressing its members, AHUON emphasized that those who have already made payments for their Hajj forms should refrain from submitting them until a new directive is issued.
Members who have received and submitted their forms and made payments are advised to send their company names to the zonal Vice President. This decision follows a meeting of AHUON’s National Executive Council (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BOT), which concluded that the suspension is necessary to ensure that existing requests to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), particularly concerning long-overdue refunds, are adequately addressed.

AHUON expressed frustration over NAHCON’s delay in responding to their multiple requests, noting that the organization only replied on September 24, 2024, citing the need to align Hajj processing with the Saudi Hajj calendar. AHUON’s leadership views this response as part of a recurring issue with NAHCON regarding accumulated refunds, which they believe should no longer be tolerated.
The association is urging its members to remain patient and supportive as they explore legal avenues to recover their rights and establish a fair precedent in dealings with NAHCON. Despite the challenges posed by this situation, AHUON remains hopeful, appealing for continued support and prayers from its members during this difficult period.
AbdulLateef Yusuff Ekundayo, President of AHUON, reassured members that with collective effort, they will find a resolution.
