MNJTF Troops Raid Terrorist Hideout in Borno, Capture Key Logistics Supplier

In a significant development in the fight against terrorism, troops from the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have apprehended a high-profile logistics courier for Boko Haram in Guzamala, Borno State.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Mr. Garba Buda, was taken into custody following an intelligence-led operation while he was transiting through Monguno town.

Mr. Buda had been on the MNJTF’s wanted list due to his crucial role in facilitating the supply chain for Boko Haram.

His activities included transporting logistics between Monguno and the Southern Tumbus region of Lake Chad.

Authorities monitored his movements through human intelligence and surveillance efforts, leading to his successful arrest.

Items recovered during Mr. Buda’s apprehension, including a lighter, pocket mirror, comb, cap, and wristwatch, are believed to provide insight into his operations within the terrorist group. He is currently being held for further investigation and profiling.

In a related operation, MNJTF troops conducted a raid on a Boko Haram and ISWAP enclave in Kukawa Local Government Area, also in Borno State. Upon the troops’ arrival, the terrorists reportedly fled, leaving behind a cache of logistics, which were subsequently destroyed by the forces.

These successful operations mark a significant stride in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the Lake Chad region. They underscore the commitment of the MNJTF and allied security forces to dismantle terrorist networks and improve security for local communities.
