Makarfi Mourns Ex-IGP Coomassie
Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi has received with shock and total submission to the will of Allah, news of the death of elder statesman, patriot and public servant, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu Comassie retired Inspector-General of Police.

Though saddened by this heavy loss, Senator Makarfi derives consolation from the fact that IG Ibrahim Comassie lived a good life in the service of God and humanity. The Sardaunan Katsina was an epitome of simplicity, excellence and professionalism. His contributions to the development of this country were invaluable and cannot be quantified. He has no doubt bequeathed a legacy of humility, honesty and courage in the face of daunting odds, as well as dedication and commitment to justice and fairnes as well as the unity of this country.
His records of public service, especially in the Nigerian Police, where he rose to the apex and which will remain a shining example for current and future generations of police officers and his leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum among others, will continue to be remembered and cherished.
Senator Makarfi conveys his most heartfelt condolences to the Comassie Family, the Emir of Katsina, Government and people of Katsina State, the ACF and indeed all Nigerians over IG Comassie’s death.
It is the earnest prayer of Senator Makarfi that Allah (SWT) will abundantly reward the late Sardaunan Katsina for his numerous good deeds, forgive his mistakes, grant him eternal rest and also give his family and all of us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
