Minister, Naval Chief Unveil NOWA Magazine to Amplify Personnel Wives’ Stories

The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan sulaiman-Ibrahim and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu-Ogalla hav unveiled magazine launched by the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA).

The magazine, titled “Sailor’s Wife” was launched in commemoration of NOWA’s 59th Anniversary in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, the minister commended the association for its economic empowerment drive for women.

Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who was represented by her Senior Special Assistant, Dr jummai Idonije, gave the commendation on Thursday, in Abuja.

She said that NOWA had continued to demonstrate unparalleled commitment to the empowerment of women, families and communities across Nigeria.

She said that their dedication to fostering unity, advancing education and creating opportunities for women aligned seamlessly with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

In his remark, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu-Ogalla, represented by Rear Admiral Eugenio Olusegun Ferreira, Chief of Training and Operations, congratulated NOWA on the anniversary and commended their efforts in sustaining their ideals over the years, particularly in reaching out to families, vulnerable people, and society at large.

He said the publication will provide inspiration, practical guidance, and a window into the strength, resilience, and aspiration of the naval community.

NOWA’s National President, Mrs. Ijeoma Blessing Ogalla, represented by her Vice President, Mrs. Zainab Akpan, expressed gratitude to the magazine committee and everyone involved in bringing the publication to life.

She emphasized the importance of the magazine as a symbol of their shared journey and a testament to the enduring strength and unity within the association.

“It will feature articles on family life, personal development, health, education, and retirement, targeting both national and international readers”, she said.

She noted that “The Sailor’s Wife” will amplify the stories of navy wives in their own way while also provide a platform for their experiences, challenges, and triumphs.
