The Third-Estate, a distinguished socio-cultural organization representing the intellectual and professional community of the Ilorin Emirate, has officially endorsed a collaborative initiative with the PRNigeria Centre to launch a transformative Art and Craft training project. ⁷This initiative aims to equip young individuals with essential skills that will empower them for future success.

The announcement was made during a recent visit by the leadership of the Third Estate to the PRNigeria Centre in Ilorin, where discussions highlighted the project’s potential impact on the community’s youth.

The initiative, titled the “Digital Art & Craft (DAC) Talent Discovery Program,” is specifically designed for young people aged 5 to 18 in Ilorin. The program seeks not only to impart essential digital skills—such as photography, videography, robotics, artificial intelligence, and coding—but also to nurture artistic talents through disciplines like painting, illustration, and crafts including shoemaking, bag making, and fashion design. These efforts aim to enhance creativity and instill a greater appreciation for skill acquisition among the youth.

During his opening remarks, Mr. Ibrahim T. Hassan, President of the Third Estate, praised PRNigeria for spearheading this initiative, which he believes will positively engage young people and promote healthy competition. He recommended scheduling the program during the upcoming school holidays to maximize participation and suggested the provision of a banner and visitor log to facilitate better organization.

In recognition of the project’s importance, Mallam Abubakar, Secretary of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), conveyed his support and promised to involve the IEDPU in the initiative. He highlighted the organization’s commitment to community development through various projects, including borehole construction, health outreach programs, and educational scholarships.

Abdulhamid Yunus Shittu, the manager of PRNigeria Centre in Ilorin, outlined the project’s structure, which will begin with talent discovery outreach efforts in local communities to select participants. The training will culminate in a competitive showcase, where prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists, fostering motivation and excellence among participants.

Shittu also presented a comprehensive video showcasing PRNigeria‘s ongoing activities and accomplishments since the establishment of its Kwara state branch in October of the previous year. The video highlighted initiatives such as the PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship, which successfully trained ten individuals in various media-related fields, including journalism, public relations, fact-checking, and the use of AI tools.

PRNigeria operates alongside other branches in Abuja and Kano under the banner of Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), the publisher of PRNigeria, Economic Confidential, and additional titles.

The Third Estate delegation included key members such as Mallam Ibrahim Shuaib NPN (spokesperson), Alhaji Rasheed Hassan (Treasurer), and Dr. Ibrahim Gambari (Former Senior Aide to the Kwara State Government).

As a respected entity within the Ilorin Emirate, the Third Estate is committed to fostering the development and welfare of the local community. Through various empowerment initiatives, the organization supports the less privileged and offers educational scholarships and training opportunities to youth, striving to create a brighter future for the region.

In partnership with government agencies, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders, the Third Estate actively addresses pressing community issues, working toward sustained progress and upliftment for the people of the Ilorin Emirate.
