NEMA Stakeholders Call for Synergy Among Responders
Critical stakeholders in emergency management have called for synergy among responders in the country.
Speaking at a workshop on Restructuring, Re-engineering and Re-orientation of staff hosted by Yola Operation Office of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Taraba State, the stakeholders noted the role played by the security in managing disaster and urged that appropriate emergency equipment are provided while fire exyinguishers are installed in homes and public places by the respective owners.

The Head of Operations NEMA office, Mr. Abbani Imam Garki said the workshop was designed to sensitise critical and component authorities and other participants from Emergency response organisations in Taraba state to share ideas and to come up with robust compendium of strategies on how to effectively and efficiently manage disaster in the State.
He said that NEMA as a coordinating Agency will continue to assist towards resources mobilization, provide all necessary technical support, capacity building programs, identifying gaps and making necessary corrections or amendment for enhanced disaster management in Nigeria.
The meeting had in attendance officers from Nigeria police force, NSCDC, FRSC, VIO, staff of NIMET and other critical stakeholders in the state.
