NAF to Expand Airpower, Target Enemies in Ungoverned Areas
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has reiterated the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to eliminating threats to national security, particularly in ungoverned spaces.
Speaking at the NAF Administration and Personnel Management Seminar in Abuja, Air Marshal Abubakar stated that the Air Force will extend its airpower to track down and neutralize Nigeria’s enemies hiding in ungoverned areas.
“We will leave no stone unturned in our quest to protect Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We’ll extend our airpower to eliminate Nigeria’s enemies in ungoverned spaces, and we will not relent until our nation is safe and secure,” the CAS declared.
Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized that the NAF has been working tirelessly to enhance its operational capabilities, particularly in the areas of intelligence gathering, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

He noted that the Air Force has recorded significant successes in its counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations, and pledged to sustain the momentum in the coming months.
The CAS also commended the personnel of the NAF for their dedication, hard work, and sacrifices, and urged them to remain focused and committed to the service’s mission.
In his address, the Chief of Administration, Air Vice Marshal Idi Sani, highlighted the Seminar’s importance in addressing emerging manpower requirements amidst recent structural transformations within the NAF.
He noted that the recent establishment the NAF Transformation & Innovation and Civil-Military Relations Branches as well as the Directorates of Peace Support Operations, Air Worthiness & Certification, Lands Administration, and Project Monitoring, necessitates a shift from traditional skills to more specialised expertise
The seminar, which drew participants from various units and formations of the NAF, aimed to discuss emerging trends and challenges in human resource management and develop strategies to enhance the service’s operational efficiency.
