BUKAA Launches Toastmasters Club to Enhance Communication and Leadership Skills

In a move to empower its members with essential communication and leadership skills, the Bayero University Kano Alumni Association (BUKAA), the Federal Capital Territory Chapter (FCT) is set to launch its Toastmasters Club in the first week of February.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Chapter of the association, Comrade Mohammed Alhassan Gumel in a notice to members.

The initiative aligns with the association’s commitment, as pledged during its Congress, to equip members with competitive skills to excel in their professional and personal lives. The newly formed BUKAA Toastmasters Club will provide a platform for members to hone their public speaking, critical thinking, speech writing, and leadership abilities—along with over 300 other competencies.

A key highlight of the club’s formation is the voluntary commitment of seven dedicated members, spanning different generations—Elders, Seniors, and Gen Zs—who have taken up leadership roles to support and mentor others while also advancing their own skills.

PRNigeria reports that the club’s launch marks a significant milestone in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development among BUKAA members. By providing a structured and supportive environment, the initiative is expected to build confidence, improve public speaking skills, and strengthen leadership qualities among participants.

Members of the association and the wider BUK community are encouraged to support and celebrate the leadership team as they pave the way for a transformative learning experience.
