Nigerians in Europe Can Now Renew Passports Online
The Federal Government has introduced a Contactless Passport Renewal System in Europe, allowing eligible Nigerians to renew their passports entirely online without visiting an embassy or consulate.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced this in a statement on Friday, explaining that the new system eliminates the traditional hurdles associated with passport renewals.

“As with the case in Canada, this innovative system is designed to eliminate the traditional hurdles associated with passport renewals. Now, eligible Nigerians in Europe can renew their passports entirely online from the comfort of their homes and offices,” the minister said.
The initiative is part of efforts to enhance service delivery for Nigerians in the diaspora, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
It is expected to reduce waiting times, cut travel costs, and make passport renewal more seamless.
The government has assured that it will continue to expand digital reforms to improve accessibility and efficiency in service delivery.
