El-Rufai: Nuhu Ribadu, Uba Sani Are No Longer My Friends
Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has declared that National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani are no longer his friends, alleging that they are conspiring to tarnish his reputation.
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV on Monday, El-Rufai claimed that Ribadu is orchestrating a campaign against him as part of a long-term strategy to eliminate political rivals ahead of the 2031 presidential election.
“This project to destroy Nasir El-Rufai is Nuhu Ribadu’s conception. He is the architect and builder of that project. He is the one working with Uba Sani to implement it. So far, it has been frustrating for them,” he said.

El-Rufai further alleged that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is being used to pressure his former officials into implicating him.
“In fact, what they have resorted to doing is to call low-level people and some of my officials to say, ‘implicate El-Rufai and your problems will go away.’ This is what ICPC has become,” he stated.
The former governor, who played a key role in the emergence of Uba Sani as his successor, expressed disappointment in his former allies.
“Uba Sani and Nuhu Ribadu are not my friends. They were my friends at some point but not anymore,” he declared.
His comments come amid ongoing political tensions and allegations of corruption investigations linked to his tenure as Kaduna State governor.
