Ex-NBA Chairman Jibrin Jibrin Resigns from Bauchi Polytechnic Governing Council
A member of the Governing Council of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP), Bauchi, Jibrin S. Jibrin, Esq., has resigned from his position with immediate effect, PRNigeria reports.
Jibrin has served on the council since 2020. PRNigeria gathered that he has already submitted his resignation letter to Governor Bala Mohammed.
In the letter, dated Monday, February 17, 2025, Jibrin, the immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Bauchi Branch, stated that his decision to step down resulted from “deep reflection, consultation, and conscience searching.”
His resignation was prompted by the recent leadership reshuffle within the polytechnic’s governing council, where the late Sen. Lawal Yahaya Gumau, who passed away last Friday was appointed to replace Dr. Abubakar Sirinbai Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as Chairman.

Expressing his dismay over the decision, Jibrin said: “As council members, we should have been informed beforehand about the development, not just for us to read the same on social media and all of that.”
Despite his resignation, Jibrin thanked the Bauchi State Governor for the opportunity to serve. He reaffirmed his commitment to the state’s progress and stressed the importance of accountability in public service.
He also urged leaders to establish a reward system for those who showed dedication, loyalty, and sacrifice during electioneering campaigns.
Jibrin offered prayers for the continued success of ATAP, Bauchi State, and Nigeria at large.
PRNigeria reports that Jibrin, also a former National President of the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS), currently serves as a member of the Governing Council of the NBA Human Rights Institute.
He holds the traditional titles of Jakkadan Tirwun, Barden Galambi, and Dan Malikin Tirwun and hails from Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
