Troops Neutralise Terrorists, Destroy Hideouts in Kaura Namoda

In a significant blow to terrorist activities in Zamfara State, troops of the Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully conducted offensive operations against terrorist enclaves west of Kaura Namoda. The operation, carried out on March 10, 2025, targeted the hideouts of notorious kingpins, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists and the recovery of weapons and other items.

The troops, operating under the 1 Brigade Mobile Strike Teams, launched coordinated air and ground assaults on the hideout of Dan Sa’adia, a prominent terrorist leader. During the engagement, many terrorists were neutralized, including a key kingpin identified as Babangida. The operation also led to the recovery of one locally made pistol, one locally made revolver, and one PKT magazine from the hideout.

In a separate operation, troops cleared another terrorist hideout at Gidan Rugga, where they seized a pair of woodland camouflage uniforms, a pair of boots, and Baofeng radio chargers. Additionally, the troops reopened the Kungurki-Walo road, which had been obstructed by the terrorists, restoring access for local communities.

Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation FANSAN YAMMA, emphasized the commitment of the task force to eradicating terrorist hideouts and restoring socio-economic activities in the region. “Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains steadfast in its mission to ensure the safety and prosperity of our communities. We urge local residents to continue supporting these efforts for a safer and more secure environment,” he stated.

The successful operations mark a critical step in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in Zamfara State and restore normalcy to the affected areas. The Joint Task Force has called for continued cooperation from local communities to sustain the momentum in the fight against terrorism.
