The NSCDC boss commended recent joint security operations involving the Armed Forces, Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and NSCDC operatives in Rivers State. The operation successfully thwarted an attempted attack on oil installations in Allu-Rumuekpe, Emuoha Local Government Area. He described inter-agency collaboration as essential to combating crime and maintaining national security.
Acknowledging the increased security risks during festive periods, Dr. Audi directed that all NSCDC formations, including tactical units such as the Special Intelligence Squad, Mining Marshals, Crack Squad, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and Female Special Force, be placed on high alert. The deployment, he noted, will cover strategic locations, including oil pipelines, power installations, rail lines, and mining sites.
He further mandated that State Commandants in coastal areas strictly adhere to operational procedures and utilize available resources to ensure public safety.
Dr. Audi urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information to help prevent any potential security threats.
The NSCDC reassured Nigerians that all necessary measures have been put in place to guarantee a smooth and hitch-free Eid-al-Fitr celebration nationwide.
