Joint Security Force Dislodges Criminal Camp in Anambra, Recover Arms
A police-led joint security team has successfully dislodged a criminal camp in Ogbunka, Anambra State, after a six-hour gun battle with armed criminals.
The joint team, comprising the Army, Navy, Department of State Security, and Anambra State Vigilante, acted on intelligence gathered over time to launch the operation.
The team also recovered of Stolen Items relief Materials, Dismembered Vehicles, Explosives.

A statement by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, said some of the criminals escaped with bullet injuries, and the operatives have taken over the area to sustain security dominance and possibly arrest fleeing suspects.
The Anambra State Police Command assured residents that the confidence reposed in them for protecting lives and properties is not taken for granted.
The command vowed to continue denying unrepentant criminals the space to commit havoc in the state.
According him, this operation is not the first of its kind in Ogbunka. In October 2023, a similar operation was conducted, resulting in the rescue of three hostages, including a revered Reverend Father, and the recovery of weapons and stolen vehicles.
He said, “The joint security force shall continue to deny unrepentant criminals the space to commit havoc in the state.”
