Police Arrest 14-Year-Old Girl for Killing Employer, Nab 22 Cultists in Benue, Recover Rustled Cattle in Plateau

In a series of significant law enforcement actions across Nigeria, police authorities in Lagos, Benue, and Plateau States have recorded major breakthroughs in tackling violent crimes and maintaining public safety, PRNigeria reports.

In Lagos, a 14-year-old house help, Dorcas Adebisi, was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly stabbing her employer, Modupe Lawson, to death during a domestic altercation.

The tragic incident occurred on April 9 at about 4:00 p.m. at No. 13 Ayoola Street, Oworonshoki. The deceased’s brother, Abayomi Samuel Aina, reported the case to the Oworonshoki Police Division an hour later.

According to Zagazola, officers who visited the scene found the victim in a pool of blood and evacuated her body to the Mainland General Hospital morgue in Yaba for autopsy. The teenage suspect was apprehended at the scene and remains in police custody as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, in Benue State, a police operation targeting cultists and criminals led to the arrest of 22 suspects in the Wadata axis of Makurdi. The coordinated raid, which began around 10:30 p.m. on April 9 and lasted into the early hours of the next day, focused on known black spots and cultist hideouts. Police sources confirmed that all suspects are in custody and undergoing interrogation as part of ongoing efforts to curb cult-related violence in the area.

In a separate development in Plateau State, the police recovered 11 out of 55 cows allegedly rustled by suspected local youths in Murish village, Mangu Local Government Area.

The cattle, which were being herded by two Fulani youths on April 9, were seized by a group of about 30 armed individuals. One of the herders, Abdullahi Suleiman, 21, is currently missing. Following a swift response from the Divisional Police Officer in Mangu, security teams recovered part of the stolen livestock.

Efforts are ongoing to retrieve the remaining 44 cows and locate the missing herder. Additional security reinforcements have been deployed, while the Area Commander in Pankshin has relocated to Mangu to coordinate the operation and mediate with community stakeholders.
