FG Declares Friday , Monday as Easter Holidays, Urges Prayers for National Unity
The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

While congratulating Christians on the celebration of Easter, the Minister highlighted the significance of the season, urging Nigerians to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, love, and redemption demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
He called on citizens to use the Easter period to offer prayers for the peace, unity, and stability of the nation.
Reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to national development under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged acts of kindness and goodwill among citizens during the holiday.
He wished Christians a joyful Easter and extended warm holiday greetings to all Nigerians.
