Kwara Police Nab Bandit Informants as 1 Killed in Gang Clash at Niger Wedding
Police have arrested two suspected informants to bandits in Kwara State, while a separate incident in Niger State led to the death of one person during a clash between rival gangs at a wedding PRNigeria learnt.
In Kwara, the suspects—Abdullah Yakubu, 27, and Jamilu Hamidu, 25, both from Kaima—were arrested on April 26, 2025, in Chikanda via Yashikira. They were handed over to the police by a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police and local vigilante members.

According to Zagazola, the suspects allegedly confessed to working with bandits in Kainji National Park and admitted receiving ₦20,000 for each piece of intelligence shared with the criminals.
In a related development, one person was killed on April 27 in the Bayan-Waya area of Kontagora, Niger State, following a violent clash between rival gangs known locally as “Sarasuka” during a wedding ceremony.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Aliyu Abubakar from Gangare Sagi Area, was rushed to Kontagora General Hospital by police officers but was confirmed dead on arrival. Efforts are ongoing to arrest those involved in the deadly altercation.
