NIPR Reactivates Borno State Chapter, Inducts Over 25 New Members
In a significant step towards strengthening the professional community of communicators in Nigeria’s North-East, the Borno State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has been officially reactivated, marking a major milestone in the institute’s national revitalization agenda.
The Secretary, NIPR Bauchi Chapter, Tanimu Ibrahim Gambo disclosed in a statement.
The reactivation was spearheaded by the Bauchi State Chapter of NIPR under the directive of the President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, who had mandated the revitalization of dormant chapters in the region, particularly Borno and Gombe.
Responding to the call, the Bauchi Chapter, led by its Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Rabiu Wada, fnipr, embarked on a rigorous mentorship drive that culminated in the formal restoration of the Borno Chapter in Maiduguri.

Alhaji Wada, accompanied by fellow Bauchi executive Kabiru Garba Aminu and Chapter Secretary Comrade Tanimu Ibrahim Gambo, facilitated the induction of over 25 new members and recertification of veteran practitioners during the reactivation ceremony. The event drew a diverse audience, including communication scholars, media professionals, and officers from law enforcement agencies.
PRNigeria gathers that in a goodwill phone call during the ceremony, Dr. Neliaku congratulated the Borno team and commended the Bauchi Chapter for its unwavering commitment to the institute’s vision. He urged members to promote professionalism, integrity, and excellence in the practice of public relations across the country.
To appreciate his instrumental role in reviving the chapter, the Borno State Chapter presented an honorary award to Alhaji Wada, recognizing his dedication and mentorship throughout the process.
The reactivation is seen as a significant boost to the NIPR’s mission of deepening professionalism and ethical practice across all sectors in Nigeria, especially in regions recovering from conflict and rebuilding institutional capacity.
