Sa’ad, known online by the handle @youngcee0066 on TikTok and Instagram, appeared in a viral video where he was seen spraying naira notes on the ground, stepping on them, and challenging EFCC operatives in Hausa to apprehend him if they could.
In response, EFCC operatives launched an intelligence-led operation and arrested him in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna State. He is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation at the Commission’s Kaduna Zonal Directorate.
The anti-graft agency reiterated that abuse of the naira remains a punishable offence under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act, and warned the public to desist from such acts.
Sa’ad’s arrest adds to a growing list of individuals being held accountable for publicly defacing or mishandling the national currency.
