AGAIN, Troops Neutralize 21 Terrorists, Seize Arms, Motorcycles in Katsina

…Operation Fansan Yamma Records Fresh Gains in Northwestern Nigeria

In a decisive onslaught against insurgency in the North West, gallant troops of the Joint Task Force under Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralized 21 terrorists and seized a cache of weapons during a daring assault on terrorist enclaves in Ruwan Godiya, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The Nigerian Army, in a statement published via its official Facebook page, revealed that the operation was carried out on Friday, May 23, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to rid the region of criminal elements threatening peace and security.

According to the statement, the troops launched a coordinated assault on the terrorists’ hideout and engaged them in a fierce firefight, successfully overwhelming the enemy. The terrorists, unable to withstand the superior firepower of the Nigerian forces, were forced to abandon their base and flee in disarray.

“During the ensuing pursuit, 21 terrorists were neutralized, with some drowning while attempting to escape through a nearby river,” the Army disclosed.

The operation also led to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition. Among the items seized were rifles, magazines, explosives, communication devices, mobile phones, and several motorcycles believed to have been used for coordinated attacks and mobility within the region.

Military authorities hailed the success of the operation as a major blow to insurgent networks operating within Katsina State and reiterated their commitment to intensifying offensives against all criminal elements threatening the nation’s stability.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Army promised that further operational details would be made available in due course.
