Army Chief Lauds Local Production of Combat Equipment

… Indigenous Manufacturer Rolls Out Special Combat Vehicles and Operational Facilities

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has commended the local production of combat equipment by an indigenous company, highlighting its crucial role in strengthening military operations.

Lt. Gen. Oluyede made the remarks while receiving a batch of locally-produced All-Terrain Combat Vehicles during the 2025 COAS Bi-Annual Conference in Maiduguri, Borno State. The vehicles were manufactured by Kaduna-based Vanquish Industries, a leading defense technology firm in Northwest Nigeria.

“From what I see here today, this is a clear testament to our nation’s capability. We commend Vanquish Industries for their remarkable work. These vehicles will enhance our operations and facilitate troops’ advancement into challenging terrains. We will put them to judicious use for the purpose they are meant to serve,” Oluyede stated.

The Vanquisher, an advanced All-Terrain Combat Vehicle, is designed to enhance infantry mobility, enabling troops to navigate tough operational environments. According to Vanquish Industries’ Managing Director, Zach Duwa, the vehicle is built with military-grade materials and integrated with night vision technology, allowing troops to maneuver effectively even in low-light conditions.

Duwa further revealed that the current delivery consists of five vehicles, with more still in production. He assured that the remaining units would be delivered on schedule, a commitment the company has consistently upheld over the years.

The Nigerian Army’s latest procurement underscores its compliance with the Federal Government’s agenda to promote and patronize locally manufactured products, reinforcing the country’s push for self-reliance in defense equipment production.
