WAR: Trump to Decide on ‘Military Operation’ Against Iran Within 14 Days
Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced he will decide within the next two weeks whether to launch a military strike on Iran. The decision, he said, hinges on the possibility of negotiations aimed at easing hostilities in the region.
The announcement comes as Israeli forces and Iran-backed groups continue to exchange fire for the seventh consecutive day.
At a White House press briefing on Thursday, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt delivered a statement from President Trump, addressing growing speculation about potential U.S. involvement in the conflict.
“Given the substantial chance that negotiations with Iran may take place soon, I will make my decision—whether or not to proceed with military action—within the next two weeks,” the president stated.

Leavitt declined to elaborate on the basis of Trump’s optimism regarding possible talks, but confirmed that diplomatic communications between Washington and Tehran are ongoing.
President Trump had earlier claimed that Iranian officials expressed interest in sending a delegation to the White House to negotiate terms over its nuclear program and seek an end to the conflict with Israel—an assertion Iran has since denied.
When asked about reports that Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, had contacted Iran’s Foreign Minister, Leavitt acknowledged that communication had occurred but said she had no information suggesting Witkoff would travel to Geneva for any negotiations.
Meanwhile, Trump convened his third high-level security meeting in as many days inside the White House Situation Room to deliberate on the possibility of joining Israel’s bombing campaign against Iran.
On Wednesday, Trump told reporters, “I may do it, I may not do it,” referring to a potential military response.
