In Plateau, Security Forces Dislodge Militias, Reclaim Villages in Bokkos
In a bold counter-offensive, joint security forces have successfully reclaimed several villages in the Horop District of Bokkos Local Government Area in Plateau State, previously overrun by suspected Fulani militias, PRNigeria learnt.
The clearance operation was launched after reports emerged that residents of Hokk and surrounding villages had fled their homes following repeated attacks. The fleeing residents disclosed that the assailants had taken control of their communities and constructed makeshift shelters, effectively occupying the area.

In response, a combined team comprising troops of the Nigerian Army, operatives of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS), and Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel were deployed to flush out the attackers and restore order.
According to Zagazola Makama, the security forces met stiff resistance from the armed militias, leading to a fierce gun duel. However, the troops overpowered the attackers, who were forced to retreat into the surrounding bushes.
During the operation, several temporary huts built by the militias were destroyed, and two motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing insurgents were recovered at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that security patrols have been intensified across the reclaimed villages to deter further incursions and facilitate the safe return of displaced residents to their homes.
