Police Arrest 6 Suspected Armed Robber in Benue, Recover Firearm, Motorcycle
The Benue State Police Command has apprehended six individuals suspected to be members of a notorious armed robbery gang terrorizing residents in the North Bank area of Makurdi, the state capital.
The suspects were arrested around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday by operatives of the ‘C’ Division patrol team, following a distress call from the SRS junction within the North Bank axis.

Police sources identified the suspects as Aondogu Timbe, Tordue Ashiu, Robert Iorzua, Ushahumba Ornguga, Sunday Daniel, and Ornguga Daniel.
During the operation, officers recovered a locally fabricated pistol in the possession of Aondogu Timbe. They also seized an unregistered Honda Cube motorcycle, which is believed to have been used in the execution of the gang’s criminal activities.
Preliminary findings have linked the suspects to a string of armed robbery cases in and around North Bank.
The police have since transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for in-depth investigation and subsequent prosecution.
