Tinubu Appoints IBB’s Son as Chairman, Bank of Agriculture, Names Heads of Key Agencies
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Muhammad Babangida, son of former military president Ibrahim Babangida, as the Chairman of the revamped Bank of Agriculture.
The appointment, announced on Friday by Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, is part of a fresh round of leadership changes across several federal government agencies and parastatals.
Muhammad Babangida, 53, is a graduate of the European University in Montreux, Switzerland, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Business Communication. He also completed the Executive Program on Corporate Governance at Harvard Business School in 2002.
The President also approved the appointment of eight others to various leadership positions. The appointees and their designations are as follows:
Lydia Kalat Musa (Kaduna State) – Chairman, Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA)

Dr Abdulmumini Mohammed Aminu-Zaria (Kaduna State) – Executive Director, Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission (NIWRMC)
The appointments are expected to strengthen governance and operational effectiveness across key strategic sectors, in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
All newly appointed officials are to assume duties with immediate effect.
