Troops Foil Terrorists’ Attack in Monguno, Seize, Logistics
Troops of Sector 3 under Operation Hadin Kai have successfully repelled an early morning attempt by terrorists to infiltrate Monguno town through the Charlie 15 axis, security sources confirmed on Sunday.
The attempted incursion, which occurred at about 2:55 a.m. on Sunday, was foiled by alert troops who swiftly engaged the insurgents in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to retreat.

A military source who spoke to Zagazola Makama disclosed that while pursuing the fleeing attackers, the troops observed traces of blood along their withdrawal route, indicating that some of the terrorists may have sustained gunshot wounds.
Following the failed attack, troops recovered several items left behind by the assailants. These included seven rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a PKT machine gun belt, an empty AK-47 magazine, an RPG bomb, a pair of slippers, and a packet of spaghetti.
There were no casualties recorded on the side of the military during the operation, and the troops maintained control of the area as the terrorists disappeared into the surrounding bush.
The swift response underscores the continued vigilance and operational readiness of the Nigerian Armed Forces in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the Northeast.
