The Paramount Ruler of Oka-Akoko, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, OON, the Olubaka of Oka, has praised the Okarufe Cultural Foundation (OCF) for its remarkable contributions to the success of this year’s Oka Day Festival, describing it as the most impactful in recent memory.

In a personal telephone call to the President of OCF, Chief Akinrogun Alaba Yusuf, shortly after the celebrations, Oba Adeleye expressed deep appreciation for the Foundation’s innovative programs and community-based projects, which he said significantly uplifted the people of Oka.

“The OCF under Chief Alaba Yusuf pleasantly surprised us in Okaland with their innovative programs and projects, which touched the lives of everyone in our community,” the monarch remarked.

Highlighting specific achievements, the Olubaka commended the Foundation’s 2-day mega medical outreach, which provided vital healthcare services across the nooks and crannies of Oka. He further lauded the commissioning of boreholes, aimed at tackling water-borne diseases, and the installation of a multi-million-naira solar power system at the FMC Annex, Oke-Oka.

Oba Adeleye, who also serves as Chairman of the OCF Board of Trustees and Grand Patron of the organization, described the Foundation’s interventions as people-oriented and transformative. He noted that the N800,000 in cash prizes awarded to top JAMB performers and the distribution of 2,000 notebooks to public secondary schools reflect the group’s strong commitment to education and youth development.

“The medical outreach touched the grassroots, the boreholes will help stem water-related illnesses, and your investment in solar energy and education will leave a lasting legacy. These are commendable efforts,” the monarch said.

Offering royal prayers, Kabiyesi wished all Okarufe indigenes—at home and in the diaspora—good health, prosperity, and continued unity. “It is my expectation and prayer that next year’s Oka Day will surpass the greatness we witnessed this year,” he concluded.

In response, Chief Alaba Yusuf thanked His Majesty for the warm words and unwavering support. He credited much of OCF’s success to the Kabiyesi’s open-door policy and wise counsel.

“This is just the beginning of greater things to come in Oka under your reign, Kabiyesi,” Chief Yusuf pledged.

The Oka Day Festival, an annual celebration of cultural heritage and unity, was widely hailed this year for its impressive turnout, developmental strides, and the strong bond it reinforced among Oka sons and daughters.
