Senator Shehu Buba Condoles with APC National Chairman over Mother’s Death
Senator Shehu Buba of Bauchi South Senatorial District has extended his condolences to Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the newly appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the death of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.
In a letter addressed to the APC chairman, Senator Buba described the loss as “quite painful and shocking.” He acknowledged Mama Yilwatda’s immense influence on her son’s life and her significant contributions to society.

Buba, who chairs the Senate Committee on Intelligence and National Security, praised the pivotal role both Mama Lydia and her late husband, Reverend Thoma Goshewe Yilwatda, played in shaping Professor Yilwatda into a prominent national and international leader.
“As someone who has long known about your family background… I can well imagine how huge and irreparable this loss is to you, the Yilwatda family, the Church, our party, and the nation as a whole,” the senator wrote.
Senator Buba urged Professor Yilwatda to find strength and inspiration in his mother’s legacy. He encouraged the APC chairman to use this difficult time to rededicate himself to his national duties, stating that this would be the best way to honor the family’s contributions and inspire future generations.
The letter concluded with a prayer for Professor Yilwatda, asking for divine strength to bear the loss. “May the Almighty God grant you the strength, fortitude, and a strong heart to bear the irreparable loss,” Senator Buba wrote.
