NAF Begins DSSC Recruitment for 2025, Reiterates Commitment to Transparency
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 34/2025, calling on qualified graduates and professionals to apply.
The recruitment exercise, which was made public via NAF’s official X handle on Tuesday, covers diverse specialisations including engineering, medicine, and cyber technology—fields the force described as crucial to meeting contemporary security and defence challenges.
According to the announcement, the application window will run from August 27 to October 7, 2025, and is free of charge. Interested candidates are to apply through the official recruitment portal: nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng
Eligibility Requirements
NAF outlined the following criteria for prospective applicants:
Must be Nigerian citizens by birth.

Age bracket: 20–32 years; however, medical doctors (consultants) may apply up to age 40.
Not open to serving personnel seeking Branch Commission; applicants above 32 years are ineligible.
Serving personnel must be recommended by their Commanding Officer, with at least 10 years of service and the rank of Corporal or higher.
Minimum height: 1.66m (male) and 1.63m (female).
Must be free from criminal convictions.
Must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit in line with NAF standards.
Academic requirement: a minimum of Second Class Upper Division and possession of an NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter.
NAF further disclosed that a Zonal General Aptitude Test will be conducted on a date to be announced on the recruitment portal. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the final selection interview.
The Force emphasised its commitment to transparency in the exercise, urging interested Nigerians to disregard fraudsters and avoid unofficial payment channels.
