Military Foil Terrorist Attacks in Sokoto, Katsina
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have successfully repelled separate terrorist attacks in Sokoto and Katsina States, the Defence Headquarters has confirmed.
According to reliable sources, the troops responded swiftly to reports of terrorist activities in Dundaye village, Augie Local Government Area of Sokoto State, on August 29. Before their arrival, the assailants had killed two locals and rustled an undisclosed number of cattle.

“Troops immediately pursued the fleeing terrorists, but no direct contact was made,” one of the sources disclosed.
On the same day, at about 10:50 p.m., troops of the 17 Brigade stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Malumfashi, Katsina State, encountered another group of terrorists at Maraban Kankara, Malumfashi LGA.
The soldiers engaged the terrorists in a fierce firefight, forcing them to retreat. However, locals later reported that two women were abducted during the attack.
The sources further noted that security operations across other sectors within the Joint Operations Area remained stable, with no major incidents recorded.
