Shettima at 59: Tinubu Hails VP’s Loyalty, Commitment to Service
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has showered encomiums on Vice President Kashim Shettima as he marks his 59th birthday, describing him as a dependable partner in the nation’s quest for progress and development.
In a congratulatory message issued from the State House on Tuesday, President Tinubu praised Shettima’s courage, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s greatness, noting that his service to the country has been both remarkable and inspiring.
“Today presents me with another unique opportunity to celebrate you, my brother, partner, and Vice President, as you mark another birthday,” the President said. “Since we embarked on this journey, united by the shared vision of building a more prosperous nation, your courage, sense of duty, tenacity, determination, and belief in Nigeria’s greatness have remained unshaken.”
Tinubu recalled Shettima’s eight-year tenure as Governor of Borno State and subsequent service as Senator representing Borno Central, describing his leadership as one defined by resilience and dedication even in the face of daunting challenges.

“You showed that leadership is service, not privilege,” Tinubu remarked, adding that his deputy has consistently demonstrated passion for democracy, good governance, and economic development.
The President expressed gratitude for Shettima’s loyalty and partnership in advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said is already yielding results in securing global partnerships, driving food security, and implementing investment reforms.
