NAF Airstrikes Kill Over 15 Terrorists in Sambisa Forest
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded another major breakthrough in the ongoing counterterrorism operations in the North-East, with precision airstrikes eliminating more than 15 terrorists at a newly discovered hideout in the Zuwa axis of the Sambisa Forest.
The operation, carried out on 3 September 2025, was executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) following credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance reports.
According to NAF, the targeted hideouts were occupied by fighters and field commanders believed to be behind recent hostilities around Bitta and other vulnerable communities in Borno State.

The interdiction mission, described by military insiders as “highly coordinated and devastating,” destroyed key structures within the enclave and neutralised dozens of insurgents attempting to regroup after recent setbacks.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, confirmed the operation in a statement on Thursday.
He said the successful strikes once again demonstrated the reach, precision, and resolve of the Nigerian Air Force in supporting ground forces and dismantling terrorist networks.
“The Air Component of OPHK remains vigilant and committed to defending Nigeria’s sovereignty. Every successful strike takes us closer to dismantling terrorist infrastructure and ensuring lasting peace for citizens in the North-East and across the country,” he said.
Since the launch of Operation Hadin Kai, the synergy between air and ground components has resulted in the elimination of several high-value targets, destruction of weapons stockpiles, and the liberation of communities once held hostage by insurgents.
