Operation HADIN KAI Launches Air-to-Ground Integration Capacity Building

The Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) is boosting its military effectiveness through a new Air-to-Ground Integration (AGI) training program, according to Theatre Commander Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar.

This is disclosed in a statement by the OPHK Spokesperson, Lt Colonel Sani Uba.

Speaking at the opening of the 2025 AGI Orientation Training on Monday, September 8, Maj. Gen. Abubakar emphasized the crucial role of enhanced skills, knowledge, and communication in combating terrorism. He explained that the training, facilitated by the Air Warfare and Doctrine Centre (AWDC), is designed to improve synergy between ground forces and air assets, while also preventing accidental harm to civilians or friendly forces.

Maj. Gen. Abubakar urged participants to approach the training with “humility, responsibility, open-mindedness, and willingness to learn.” He noted the program is a first of its kind for OPHK and will play a vital role in shaping the competence and readiness of troops.

”Our collective efforts in combating terrorism require a well-trained and professional force that can work in synergy with other agencies and entities,” he said, thanking the AWDC team for their support and expertise.

The Theatre Commander also expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for his strategic leadership in facilitating the program.

The Theatre Training Officer, Brigadier General Julius Ogbobe, welcomed the participants, encouraging them to be attentive. A representative from the AWDC, Wing Commander Asa Abatura, thanked the Theatre Commander for making the training a reality and assured that facilitators would provide thorough instruction.

The training officially opened following the remarks, marking a significant step in OPHK’s commitment to strengthening military capacity and professionalism.
