Troops Neutralise Bandits, Rescue Kidnap Victims in Katsina, Zamfara
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA (OPFY) have rescued eight kidnapped victims, repelled terrorist attacks, and neutralised two terrorists in separate operations across Sokoto, Zamfara, and Katsina States, PRNigeria reports.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that in Zamfara, troops intercepted terrorists attempting to move kidnapped victims from Barkin Daji Forest to Bagega Forest in Bukkuyum Local Government Area.

The troops reportedly laid an ambush at a known crossing point between Tungar Miragumi and Zugu village, engaging the terrorists in a gun duel that forced them to abandon their captives. All eight victims were successfully rescued, and efforts are ongoing to reunite them with their families.
In Sokoto, troops foiled an attack on Garin Bature village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area. The terrorists, however, killed two civilians before the arrival of security forces. Troops swiftly engaged the assailants, forcing them to retreat.
Similarly, in Katsina State, troops deployed at Maraban Maigora in Faskari Local Government Area engaged terrorists in the Sabuwa axis, killing one of them during a firefight.
The sources noted that clearance operations are ongoing to deny terrorists freedom of action and restore normalcy across the Northwest region.
