Military Eliminates Terrorist Commanders in Yobe, Foil Attacks in Sokoto, Zamfara
Troops of the Nigerian military have intensified counter-terrorism operations across the North, killing eight Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters, including two commanders, in Yobe State, while also foiling multiple attacks in Sokoto and Zamfara States, PRNigeria reports.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the Yobe operation occurred on September 11 at Ladari, during a military incursion against insurgents.
Among those killed were the commanders of Juye and Koloram, while 12 others sustained severe injuries. The assault was reportedly led by the ISWAP Commander of Tumbumma, who managed to escape despite suffering a hand injury.

“This marks the second time within the area that terrorists have suffered heavy losses. Earlier in Wulgo, notorious leaders Abu Fatima and Abu Nasir were neutralised,” one of the sources revealed.
In a separate development, troops under Operation FANSAN YANMA thwarted coordinated terrorist attacks in Sokoto and Zamfara States. On Thursday night, gunmen stormed Boto village in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto, killing one person and injuring two others before retreating under military pressure.
Similarly, troops of 1 Brigade engaged terrorists in Dantsauni, Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara, forcing them to abandon their mission. Soldiers also recovered an abandoned motorcycle in Tureta, Sokoto, and foiled another planned assault on Yar Galadima in Maru Local Government Area, Zamfara, after the attackers diverted to Kalgo village.
Military authorities said clearance operations are ongoing in the affected areas to consolidate recent gains against insurgents and armed groups across the North.
