Customs Recruitment: Guides on How Shortlisted Applicants Can Validate Emails for Online Test
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has instructed all shortlisted candidates in its ongoing recruitment exercise to validate their registered email addresses in preparation for the next stage of the process.
The directive, announced on Saturday via the Service’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, follows the shortlisting of 286,697 applicants for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) phase.
According to the statement, the NCS will henceforth communicate with candidates strictly through their verified email addresses. It warned that no information regarding the recruitment would be disseminated through unofficial platforms or social media pages.
The Service explained that some applicants had reported challenges in receiving official messages, prompting the need for email validation.

“All shortlisted candidates are required to log on to the Recruitment Portal via [http://updates.customs.gov.ng], using the NIN used during registration, to access their profiles.
Candidates must confirm the accuracy of their registered email addresses and update them if necessary,” the announcement read.
The NCS also outlined the next steps in the recruitment process:
The CBT will commence on a date to be communicated via email.
Only applicants with verified email addresses will receive official test instructions, pre-test access links, and login credentials.
Candidates who fail to update or validate their emails may be unable to access vital information needed for participation.
Reiterating its stance, the Service stressed that the recruitment exercise is free of charge.
“The NCS does not demand or accept payment for recruitment. Applicants are strongly advised to disregard fraudulent messages circulating on social media,” the statement added.
