Army Parades Two Kidnap Suspects as Troops Sustain Clearance Operations in Taraba
Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested two suspected kidnappers during an intelligence-led raid in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The operation, conducted on 19 September 2025 under the ongoing clearance mission codenamed Operation Lafiya Nakowa, targeted a hideout in the Garau axis of Rafin Taba community following credible intelligence on the activities of criminal elements in the area.

During the raid, troops apprehended two suspects identified as Ibrahim Umaru and Adamu Malam Musa, both notorious for their involvement in a series of abductions within Taraba and neighboring states. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspects were linked to several kidnap-for-ransom incidents, with victims often moved across state boundaries into the notorious Madam Forest in Plateau State to evade security surveillance.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 OPWS, commended the troops for their professionalism and swift execution of the operation. He assured residents that clearance operations will continue in synergy with other security agencies until all criminal networks in the state are dismantled.
The Army urged members of the public to support ongoing security efforts by providing timely and credible information, while warning criminal elements to abandon their activities or face decisive military action.
