NSA Ribadu Reunites Abducted Women with Families in Abuja

In a moving display of relief and resilience, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, on Thursday oversaw the safe return of two women abducted in Kaduna State to their families in Abuja.

Khadijah Shehu Magaji and her sister, Fatimah Shehu Magaji, were kidnapped on August 18, 2025, in Makarfi Town and held captive in the notorious Yadi Forest in Kidanda, Giwa Local Government Area. During the months-long ordeal, Khadijah gave birth to a baby girl under harrowing conditions, naming her Hafsat.

“While in captivity, Khadijah endured unimaginable hardship and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl,” Ribadu said during the reunion ceremony, praising the courage and resilience of the victims.

The ceremony, held in Abuja, was filled with emotion as the sisters were reunited with their husband and family. Tears of joy flowed freely as relatives embraced the women and the newborn, expressing gratitude to the government and security forces for ensuring their safe return.

The NSA used the occasion to reiterate the administration’s firm commitment to combating kidnapping and insecurity nationwide. He further announced the capture of two notorious armed robbers, Ibrahim Mohammed (aka Alaye) and Adamu Mohammed, wanted for the killing of a Divisional Police Officer in Gwagwalada and the murder of a lawmaker in Gareywa, both in the Federal Capital Territory.

“The arrest of these criminals sends a clear message: no one is above the law,” Ribadu stated, emphasizing the government’s zero-tolerance stance against terrorism, banditry, and armed robbery.

Security analysts view the successful rescue and high-profile arrests as a morale booster for the nation, demonstrating that persistent intelligence-led operations can dismantle criminal networks and bring relief to victims and their families.

The reunion of Khadijah, Fatimah, and baby Hafsat stands as a poignant reminder of the human cost of kidnapping and the resilience of those who survive it, highlighting the ongoing efforts of Nigerian security agencies to safeguard lives and restore hope across the country.
