The Kano State Police Command says it has arrested 105 suspects and recovered arms, ammunition, illicit drugs, and stolen properties in its sustained crime-fighting operations across the state in September 2025.

Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, disclosed this on Monday during a press briefing at the Bompai Police Headquarters, Kano.

Bakori said the command, acting in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, had intensified its proactive strategies through Operation Kukan Kura, which targets violent crimes and drug-related offenses.

“Operation Kukan Kura is a comprehensive security initiative designed to tackle all forms of crimes and criminalities in Kano State, with active participation of members of the public. This Operation has yielded remarkable results in disrupting criminal networks and preventing potential threats,” the CP stated.

According to him, the operation has led to significant breakthroughs, including the recovery of Tramadol and Pregabalin tablets valued at N82,725,000 at Rimin Auzinawa Quarters, Kano. He added that the drugs would be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and prosecution.

Giving a breakdown of the arrests, Bakori said:
