Troops Rescue Six Kidnap Victims in Benue Ambush
Troops have rescued six kidnapped victims, including a child and a commercial driver, after suspected gunmen ambushed a vehicle in Katsina-Ala, Benue State.
The attack occurred on Thursday night when kidnappers hijacked a Toyota Carina II travelling from Katsina-Ala, forcing the passengers into the bush near an abandoned Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps checkpoint.

Sources told Zagazola Makama on Friday that the swift rescue followed a tip-off, as troops, working in collaboration with a Keystone security team, moved quickly to the scene and combed the area.
The rescued victims were identified as Mr. Terna Gbaya, 43, the driver; Mr. Musa Adamu, 55, from Tella-Kanuri; Mrs. Rose Sor, 35, from Kyuwande LGA; Mrs. Lydia Vyiashima, 40, from Kwanshisha; Mrs. Comfort Iyofar, 60, from Vaase in Wukari LGA; and a child.
Military sources confirmed that search operations are ongoing across the general area to free other abducted passengers and apprehend the perpetrators.
The rescue operation comes amid intensified military efforts to curb the surge in abductions along major highways in Benue State.
