CG Audi Harps on NSCDC’s Commitment to Grassroots Security, Intelligence Drive in Anambra

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to strengthening grassroots security and enhancing community-based intelligence during his operational tour of Anambra State.

Prof. Audi, who was warmly received by the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, said his visit was part of a strategic effort to assess personnel welfare, identify field challenges, and boost the Corps’ operational capacity across the South East.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House, Awka, the NSCDC boss commended the state government for its proactive approach to peace and security. He emphasized that lasting security begins at the grassroots, where citizens live and work.

“Security must begin from the grassroots. That is where the people live, work, and build the future. The Corps remains resolute in delivering quality service and ensuring that the confidence of Nigerians, particularly Ndi Anambra, in our operations is not misplaced,” Prof. Audi stated.

He also appealed for enhanced logistical and infrastructural support to enable the NSCDC to better execute its mandate in protecting lives, property, and critical national assets.

In his response, Governor Soludo praised the NSCDC for its professionalism, discipline, and resilience, noting that the Corps plays a vital role in safeguarding infrastructure and supporting community safety initiatives.

“Here in Anambra, the Light of the Nation, our greatest asset is our people—creative, enterprising, and innovative. They are the engine of our economy. Ensuring their safety and prosperity is a shared responsibility, and we appreciate the NSCDC for standing firm in that mission,” Soludo said.

He assured continued partnership with the Corps, reiterating that security remains central to the state’s economic growth and innovation-driven development.

The Commandant General’s visit to Anambra forms part of a nationwide operational tour designed to strengthen personnel welfare, improve operational readiness, and foster greater collaboration among security stakeholders. The initiative highlights NSCDC’s renewed focus on community trust, proactive engagement, and service excellence under Prof. Audi’s leadership.
