Third Estate Ilorin Emirate Mourns Passing of Distinguished Military Officer, Major General Abdullahi Adangba (Rtd.)
ILORIN, NIGERIA — The Third Estate Ilorin Emirate has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Major General Abdullahi Adangba (Rtd.), a distinguished military officer, patriot, and proud son of the Ilorin Emirate. The group stated that his life “epitomized service, discipline, and unwavering dedication to the Nigerian nation.”
In a statement signed by Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, President, and Mallam Nasir Abdulquadri, Spokesperson for the Third Estate Ilorin Emirate, the group described his death as a profound loss to the entire Ilorin community and the country he served with honour.

Major General Adangba, a former Chief of Staff, was remembered as a “fine officer and gentleman, known for his brilliance, integrity, and professionalism throughout his illustrious military career.” His contributions to national security and military administration are noted to be “etched in the annals of Nigeria’s armed forces.”
Beyond his service, the late General was lauded as a true ambassador of Ilorin values—humility, respect, courage, and devotion—standing as a beacon of inspiration to the younger generation. The Third Estate concluded that Ilorin Emirate has lost a “rare gem, a soldier, statesman, and son of honour.”
The organization extended heartfelt condolences to the Adangba family, the Ilorin Emirate Council, and the Nigerian Armed Forces, praying that Almighty Allah grants the departed soul Aljannah Firdaus.
