Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have arrested a suspected major supplier of illicit drugs to Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists operating across parts of Borno and Adamawa States, PRNigeria learnt.

The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Zubairu Muhammad, was arrested around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday by soldiers of the 232 Battalion (Tactical), Uba, in Adamawa State.

Security sources revealed that Muhammad is believed to be a key courier responsible for supplying cannabis sativa and crystal methamphetamine (commonly called ICE) to terrorist elements through the Askira-Uba, Chibok, Michika and Damboa corridors.

During the operation, troops reportedly recovered 14 blocks of cannabis sativa valued at over ₦1 million, along with 43 grams of crystal meth worth more than ₦3 million. The suspect was also found in possession of two Army camouflage T-shirts, which he allegedly wore while transporting drugs to terrorist groups to evade detection.

According to the sources, preliminary investigations have been concluded, and the recovered exhibits are to be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Yola Command, for further action.
