‘I Will Not Rest’: Tinubu Vows to Tackle Insecurity Nationwide
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and security across the country, following the rescue of 89 abducted citizens in Kwara and Niger States.
In a statement issued on Monday, President Tinubu revealed that he cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally oversee intensified security operations at home.

The President confirmed that all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, have been safely rescued through coordinated efforts by security agencies. He further disclosed that 51 of the students kidnapped from a Catholic school in Niger State have also been recovered, while search-and-rescue operations continue for the remaining missing students.
“I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving continuous updates from the frontline,” Tinubu said, praising the dedication and bravery of Nigeria’s security forces.
Reassuring Nigerians of his administration’s resolve, the President declared that the right to safety is non-negotiable for every citizen, regardless of location.
“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” he affirmed.
Security operations are ongoing across affected regions as authorities work to ensure the complete freedom of all abducted persons and dismantle the criminal networks behind the attacks.
