Kano Police Arrest Transborder Crime Financier, Recover N15.28m
Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force Scorpion Squad have arrested a suspected transborder criminal financier, Alhaji Jazuli Adamu, 40, in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State, following actionable digital intelligence and disclosures by previously apprehended armed robbery suspects.
According to information obtained by Zagazola Makama, Adamu was identified as the key financial facilitator for one Alhaji Abdulkarim Ibrahim, popularly known as Gabeida, a Nigerien national alleged to be sponsoring and arming criminal gangs responsible for coordinated car-snatching operations across Nigeria. The syndicate reportedly targeted SUVs and Hilux vehicles, which were subsequently transported across the border to Niger Republic.

Investigations revealed that proceeds from the criminal operations were routinely transferred into Adamu’s bank accounts for onward disbursement to members of the robbery network.
During his arrest, police operatives recovered ₦15,280,000 (fifteen million, two hundred and eighty thousand naira) from the suspect, believed to be funds recently sent by Abdulkarim for settlement of the criminals involved in the operations.
Further inquiries also show that Adamu operates a mini Bureau de Change (BDC) in Kano. A preliminary review of his digital communications reportedly uncovered extensive transaction records and payment receipts running into billions of naira in dealings between him and Abdulkarim.
Security sources added that several suspects who had previously received payments for stolen vehicles through Adamu are already in custody and undergoing interrogation, as investigations into the wider syndicate intensify.
