Presidency Debunks Rumours of Gbajabiamila’s Replacement as Chief of Staff
The Presidency has dismissed as false and misleading reports circulating on social media claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, described the viral claim as a fabrication aimed at sowing discord within the government.
According to the statement, there has been no change in the leadership of the President’s office, stressing that Hon. Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff, while Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola continues to serve as the President’s Principal Private Secretary.

“The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to a viral falsehood suggesting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola,” the statement read.
“There is absolutely no truth to this story, and Nigerians are advised to disregard it entirely,” it added.
The Presidency further accused the authors of the report of deliberately spreading fake news to create unnecessary tension and confusion within government circles.
Mr. Onanuga also urged media organisations and social media users to uphold professional standards by verifying information before publishing or sharing it with the public.
The clarification comes amid heightened online speculation about changes within the Presidency, which officials say are unfounded and misleading.
