PHOTOS: COAS, Sultan of Sokoto Discuss Peace, Security in Courtesy Visit
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Friday, paid a courtesy visit to the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, , at his palace in Sokoto State, where discussions centred on peace, security and strengthening civil–military relations.
During the visit, Lieutenant General Shaibu reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to sustained engagement with traditional institutions as critical partners in promoting stability, national unity and peaceful coexistence.
According to a post on a verified HQ Nigerian Army Facebook page on Saturday morning said the Army chief spoke about the importance of community collaboration in addressing security challenges and maintaining public confidence in military operations.

In his response, the Sultan of Sokoto commended the Nigerian Army for its sacrifices and professionalism in safeguarding lives and property across the country, while offering prayers for continued success in the Army’s constitutional responsibilities.
